It’s been all go at M.R. Mackenzie Towers (a.k.a. my writing desk) in the last few weeks.
First up, I’ve now completed my read-through and touch-up of my upcoming novel, Women Who Kill, and the manuscript has gone out to my ARC group. I’ve asked them to send me their feedback by no later than 25 August. That date is important, because…
Dun dun DUN!
Women Who Kill now has a release date!
That’s right – Anna Scavolini’s fourth mystery, and my sixth novel overall, will be released on Kindle and in paperback on Monday 18 September 2023.
That’s just seven weeks away, and while that might sound like plenty of time, there’s still a lot to be done.
Obviously, I’ll need to act on whatever feedback my ARC readers deliver. I’m hoping that, at this stage, it’ll just be typos and the occasional repeated or overused word or phrase. However, if someone uncovers something truly show-stopping – like a major plot-hole or inconsistency – I will, of course, need to fix it. The paperback edition also needs to be typeset, and proofs ordered and inspected.
I’m reasonably confident that the roughly three weeks I’ve left for myself will be enough for all that.
But we’ll soon find out, I guess!
